The Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macao is organising the Hong Kong and Macao 2025 Inter-university Oratory Competition. 

The Oratory competition aims to promote the French language and highlight Women in the Francophonie.

Students for whom French is a foreign language are invited to express their talents in the French language!

Participation procedure and themes

• The competition will be held in person on 8 March 2025 (the exact time and place will be confirmed at a later date)
• For category A2/B1, 5 to 7 min. oral presentation to the jury, on the subject : Which female figure inspires you? Explain why.
• For category B2, 7 to 9 min. oral presentation to the jury, on the subject : If feminism was a color, what color would it be ?

Prizes

• All candidates will receive a certificate of participation in the oratorical competition.
• The winners of the A2/B1 and B2 categories will win a four-week language study holiday in France, including air tickets and accommodation.
• A special prize known as the ¡®creativity prize¡¯ will be awarded for a particularly creative presentation, regardless of category.
• A "Public Prize"will be awarded after a secret ballot.

How to participate?

• Have French as a foreign language;
• Be enrolled at a university in Hong Kong.
• Be enrolled at the Alliance fran?aise de Hong Kong (Autumn 24 or Winter 25)
• Be aged between 18 and 25 (i.e. 26 minus one day) on the day of the competition;
• Have a level of French corresponding to the chosen category, i.e. A2 or B1 and B2 or + 
• Create a short video capsule of a maximum of 3 minutes presenting the reasons why you wish to participate and an argument project on one of the two selected themes according to your category.

Le jury de pr¨¦-selection compos¨¦ des responsables de centres et des enseignants de l'Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¹ÙÍø¿ª½±HK ¨¦valuera la pr¨¦sentation faite selon les crit¨¨res de notation annex¨¦s au r¨¨glement du concours oratoire Francophonie 2025.. Il retiendra trois candidats qu¡¯il pr¨¦sentera au concours oratoire selon les modalit¨¦s cit¨¦es ¨¤ l¡¯article 5 d r¨¨glement du concours oratoire Francophonie 2025.
